Hantao Cui is an assistant professor with the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Oklahoma State University. He received his Ph. D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2018. He was the Chief Technologist of the Large-Scale Testbed (LTB), which won the 2020 R&D 100 Awards, and is the author of the power system modeling and analysis tool ANDES.

Hantao Cui was a research assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and CURENT, University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He was appointed as a full-time research associate with CURENT before receiving his Ph.D. His dissertation was advised by Dr. Fangxing “Fran” Li. He received his M. S. and B. S. from Southeast University, China, in 2013 and 2011, both in electrical engineering.

Hantao Cui has been an Associate Editor of the Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy since 2019. He is an Outstanding Reviewer for 2019 and 2020 by the IEEE Transactions on Power Systems and author of two Essential Science Indicators (ESI) highly cited papers. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE.

  • Microgrid and smart distribution control, distributed energy resources
  • Hardware-in-the-loop simulation, and real-time operating systems
  • Smart grid scheduling and operation under uncertainty
